OUR ANTIQUE CLOCKS
Pendulum of Mayfair Shop
Our family business has been at the forefront of the antique clocks world for over 40 years. We have dedicated our lives to the pursuit of finding, restoring and selling only the most genuine 17th to 19th century antique grandfather, bracket and wall clocks. These type of clocks are rarely made today to the quality that they once were, this is because of the intrinsic labour costs they have built in them.
These amazing clockmaker's were really at the top of their profession when it comes to quality. Today the quality of many modern clocks is far inferior than the items produced by these past masters. Owning a beautiful antique clock from us, is like someone nice coming to live with you.

Our Antique Clocks & Furniture
Antique Clock History
From the very birth of civilization man has tried to measure time with varying degrees of accuracy. It is only though in the last 350 years that the Englishman's home consisted of a reliable timekeeper, the longcase or grandfather clock. It was Christian Huygens invention in 1657 of the pendulum that started all this. Not many of the earliest longcase clocks still exist but we have some beautiful walnut clocks from C1680 on display in our London showrooms.
The finest longcase clocks were produced as a rule in England from c1680 to C1810. London was the centre of the world clock making through the formation of the Worshipful Company of Clockmaker’s, set-up by Royal Charter in 1630. This company being the oldest surviving horological institution in the world, and its motto is Tempus Rerum Imperator, Latin for Time is the ruler of (all) things.
SHOPPING & CULTURE
Our City London
London is a great city to visit, there is just so much to see and do. I love going on a day trip to Greenwich by boat, visting the House of Commons and Big Ben. I also love taking a stroll in one of London's numerous well kept parks or visiting Westminster Abbey.
It is great to visit one of the many famous Museums in central London. After a long day sightseeing, what better than a great evening in one of Londons top restaurants and why not take in a show afterwards. We will happily open by appointment outside standard hours
